CamelBak was an idea born from the most basic human need – Thirst
Born In 1988 by bicycle enthusiast Michael Eidson, who was competing in a 100-mile race in gruelling summer heat. Water was vital to surviving the race, and there are few places to refill a water bottle. Eidson, an emergency medical technician by trade, decided to fill an IV bag with water and slip it into a white tube sock and stuffs the contraption into the back of his bike jersey. With that hands-free hydration is born.
CamelBak’s core values drive everything they do - from inventing the hydration category to becoming the world's leading maker of hydration solutions.
